Chapter 5 – Let’s leave the palace!
“I’ve managed to create a good number of spells.”
After I’ve succeeded in using Teleportation Magic, I made a few Dark Magic spells as well.
I first created imitations of the 《Fireball》 and 《Ice Lance》 spells, simple ones that are just hurling dark mana at others as an attack.
They are very basic, but ranged attacks like that can be powerful.
I also made other spells that create walls made of mana or disperse them.
“Well, those are not that different from the same kind of spells from other attributes, but this one── 《Conceal》”
When I pointed my hand at the apple on the table, it disappeared without a trace.
However, by reaching out I could still touch it.
I tried to pick it up and drop it on the table, but there was no noise from it.
In other words, I was able to erase both its visual and audio trace.
That was something that devils used frequently, just like 《Teleport》.
I decided to call this magic 《Conceal》.
“If I add Teleportation to that, then I will be able to freely leave the palace whenever I want…. Though Teleportation still needs a lot of research.”
Another one was creating an independent space with magic, where I can store things.
I can’t enter it myself for now, but putting something like a table in it is more than possible.
I call that one 《Pandora’s Box》 .
That’s something that only particularly powerful devils can use, as far as I know.
Dark Magic seems to be on a whole nother level compared to other attributes.
I need to test how large things can I put away in it.
Let’s try my bed for today…..

As I was focusing, I could hear a robotic sounding voice.
It was from the devil in me.
“You don’t need to go out of your way to say it…. also, it’s too late to change your manner of speech at this point, you know?”
I already know it has a foul mouth and it’s in fact an ignoramus by now.
The devil kept whining at me for the last few days.
Then, perhaps realizing that whining won’t do anything, it changed tracks to singing strange songs and trying to seduce me with only its voice. Finally it even started bawling at me to try to get its way.

Then, after all that, its voice reached its current emotionless state.
Rather than supporting my actions, it’s just voicing out loud what I’m about to do, which is just annoying.
Though, not being able to get out is probably very much despair inducing….
That being said, it’s a devil we are talking about.
I can’t just let it out.
Although I feel a bit bad for it, I can only ignore it.
There was another magic that was kind of fun.
When I was about to try that one, I heard knocks coming from the door.
“Come in.”
After my reply, a white haired large man entered my room. It was the grand chamberlain in charge of all servants within the palace.
The grand chamberlain kneeled in front of me.
“I must apologize, your highness. I’m still looking for a butler or maid for you.”
“Aah….”
My former butlers and maids all jumped ship to Ruivel recently.
Since then, I don’t have any exclusive servants.
When it’s time for a meal, a random palace servant brings it to me lately.
And since no-one wants to be my exclusive servant, that’s not about to change.
“Is that so. Well then, it’s fine.”
Last time around, this was quite a shock for me. Even more so because the butlers and maids all doted on me until now.
However, now I don’t need anyone.
I would even send the devil in me away if I could.
The butler shook his head.
“I don’t know what kind of Crest your highness has, but as a prince, being without an exclusive servant cannot be allowed. I will keep looking for candidates.”
What a barefaced lie. There is no way he doesn’t know about my Crest.
However, the fact he’s trying to find someone to be my exclusive servant must be true.
All the servants in the palace must be afraid of me.
So, he just wants to fill the position as fast as possible, no matter who with.
“Is that so…..then, I will look for an exclusive servant myself.”
“Huh?”
“I will look for one myself. Can you bring me a contract with wages included?”
I don’t especially need an exclusive servant.
However, I would like to try out something now that it came to this.
Besides, I wanted to leave the palace today as well.
“I-I don’t mind, but…do you intend to go alone, your highness?”
“No need to worry about that. I will go with my elder brother….to somewhere I would rather not say.”
That was a lie.
I will go alone.
Among my five brothers, there are some famous ones for their bad behavior. Especially the 4th Prince, Wiltas, who tends to sneak out at night into the city and create problems.
Even so, I don’t dislike Wiltas myself.
Anyway, the grand chamberlain must’ve thought I was talking about Wilkas, so he had a forced smile on his face.
“I-I see.”
“It would be welcome if you could ready the contract papers within the hour.”
“I will bring them in ten minutes.”
Just as he said, the grand chamberlain brought the contract papers over in a few minutes.
After he left, I checked the contents, just to be sure.
As expected of an exclusive servant to a member of the imperial family, the money was not bad. There should be no problems with the pay.
“Well then, I guess I’ll go now.”
I put the contract papers away into my 《Pandora’s Box》, then put on a hooded black robe.
“──《Teleport》!”
Right after saying the word, I disappeared from my room.
